The new academic session began with 3-Day Orientation Programme for the students at Multani Mal Modi College here. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar said that keeping in view the anxieties and apprehensions of the young boys and girls joining the college, the college organized this Orientation Programme during which the students were made aware about the annual academic calendar, co-curricular activities, house examination under semester system, internal assessment, various scholarship schemes, clubs and societies of the college, college magazine, activities of anti-ragging cell, women cell and placement cell.
Havan Yajna was also performed before the inauguration of the new session as well as the newly built Commerce Block which is adequate to provide state of the art infrastructure for more than 800 students. This block was inaugurated by Prof Surindra Lal, Former Principal of the college. This building is environment friendly because its entire rainwater is harvested in a scientific manner.
A Book Exhibition, in collaboration with the National Book Trust of India, was also organized in the college campus. A large number of teachers and students visited the exhibition and purchased books of their interest.
